SALTY SAM’S PIRATE CRUISE ANNOUNCES SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

Salty Sam’s Pirate Cruise is thrilled to announce our Spooktacular Halloween Celebration aboard the Pieces of Eight Pirate Ship. We will be celebrating Halloween the entire month of October with themed cruises, costume contests, prizes and games. The celebration will culminate on Halloween Night with a Murder Mystery Cruise and Masquerade Ball celebrating the birthday of Captain Redrum. The pirate ship will be decked out in Halloween decorations all month and each of our Family Friendly Pirate Cruises will have a Halloween themed interactive show with stories of ghosts, ghouls, sea monsters and magic. Kids and adults alike are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume on any cruise. Seats will be limited so reservations are recommended. Paint the Beach 2017 (8th Annual)

Paint the Beach Plein Air Festival invites artists from across the country to come and experience all Fort Myers Beach has to offer and create paintings of and on our beautiful sub-tropical islands! During the event, the public is invited to observe this challenging form of open air painting as artists compete in multiple competitions all week long throughout Fort Myers Beach. The artists capture the beauty, texture and light of the local landscape. Registration for artists will be open to the public July 15 – September 30, 2017. Each participant must pay a $50 non-refundable entry fee to sign up. We hope to see you at our 8th annual painting competition, with over $6000 in cash & prizes! Event Information

Sandsculpting Championship 2017 (31st Annual American Nov 17-26)

Come join us on Fort Myers Beach for the 31st Annual American Sandsculpting Championship and Beach Festival!  Last year’s event featured 16 sculptors from three continents and this year’s Championship promises to be even more exciting and will be the largest sand sculpting competition in the State. This will be a fun-filled event that will include World Class Master Sand Sculptors, a State Championship contest,  Amateur contest, Quick Sand Speed Sculpting, Sand Sculpting Demonstrations and Lessons, Chain Saw Art, Flying Colors, a kids activity area with bounce houses and slides, and more than 50 vendors. The event is scheduled for 10 days this year, the first week will be the Master Solos and Amateur divisions. The second week will be the Master Doubles and State Championship divisions. In all more than 25 Master Sand Sculptors and hundreds of amateurs will participate in the event.  Awards ceremonies will be on Sunday the 19th and also Sunday the 26th. Attendees will have the opportunity to view up to 30 works of art on display throughout the event. In all over 1000 tons of sand will be piled and sculpted.  FULL DETAILS

Christmas Boat Parade 2017 (29th Annual- Dec 2)

December 2, 2017

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM 

Come enjoy some Christmas spirit at the 29th Annual Fort Myers Beach Christmas Boat Parade!  Last year we had over 30 boats participating and this year promises to be even more exciting.   The parade will pass by such establishments as Bootleggers Waterfront Barbeque, Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, Matanzas on the Bay, Nervous Nellies, Doc Fords and Bonita Bills where you can kick back and enjoy the fun. Cost is $25 per boat and $50 for a sponsored boat. You can download and application here.  You can submit a check or credit card information with you application or you can pay online. You MUST however fill out and submit an application regardless of how you pay. This event is brought to you by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce. The parade will pass though Matanzas Harbor and the first two canals of Siesta Isles.  

 

 

Santa on the Sand, hosted by FOLKS (Friends of Lovers Key) and the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs

FOLKS(Friends of Lovers Key) & the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs will be hosting  Santa on the Sand  at Lovers Key State Park.  Bring your children, grandchildren & friends for an afternoon of lunch, games & prizes on the beach with Santa.  We will be collecting unwrapped toys, which will later be distributed by the Rotary Club to local children.  Each child, aged 8 & under, who donates an unwrapped toy will visit with Santa and receive a small gift. Bring your own camera or cell phone to take photos.  Lunch will be provided for the children and snacks for adults. There will also be games and prizes.  Each family in attendance will be given a chance to win a fully decorated Christmas Tree donated by the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs.  Advance registration required.

 

 

New Year's Eve and Town Birthday

December 31, 2017

12:00 PM - 11:55 PM 

Come celebrate the birthday of the Town of Fort Myers Beach and New Year's Eve at Time Square.  Festivities begin at noon with free cupcakes starting between noon and 1pm.  Live music will be played throughout the day. Ball drop is at midnight followed by fireworks off of the pier.  Don't miss the fun! Be aware the bridge will be closed ONLY to oncoming traffic from 12:15am to 1:15 am during the fireworks. There will also be extended trolley service until 2am.

American Sand Sculpting Championships
