Planning the perfect family beach vacation can be challenging and expensive. Here are some tips that will help you save some money and make your trip even more enjoyable. 

Stay off the beaten path:  So often people like to stay right in the heart of a popular city or town.  If you have the option to stay right outside those areas you'll save on hotel rates and more.  Even if it is just a few miles, the savings can be huge.

Book early:  The earlier you can reserve your hotel, Bed and Breakfast, etc. the better.  Most accommodating lodges will increase rates right before a holiday, weekend or major event coming to town. Some lodging even offers discounts for booking so far out.

Food and Entertainment:  Make sure (especially when traveling with children) that you have plenty of perishable snacks and forms of entertainment on hand to make traveling easier. 

Utilize promotional offers and coupons offered to tourists:  A lot of lodging places will give away or have available coupons and offers for out of town visitors. Utilize those savings!
